Trauma to nail plate or toe.any injury causes nail to pierce the skin or nail bed starting the process of inflammation./nAssociated bacterial infection./nPrevention-
nail care -- nail to be cut straight, not in a curve or not too short.never cut nail shorter than the flesh beneath.this prevent nail to grow within the tissue./nAvoid use of footwear which is too short or narrow toe box./nProper care of foot to prevent infection.
