Romboidal conjunctivoplasty or medial spindle procedure is performed
where the punctal ectropion is more pronounced. It is usually
necessary to dilate the punctum with a Nettleship dilator at the same
time, as this is often stenosed. It is not usually appropriate to
perform any destructive procedures on the punctum, e.g., a 3-snip
punctoplasty, as the punctum, may resume its normal appearance and
function once it has been repositioned against the globe.
