Complications of Prolonged Intubation: This patient developed Guillain Barre Syndrome, while on a trip to USA. An emergency intubation was done and then subsequently a Tracheostomy was done. While patient was recovering from GBS, a decanulation attempt was made but failed and there was severe stridor. Patient came to India and landed with us. On Flexible laryngo-tracheoscopy, there was Bilateral bowed cords, Left vocal cord paralysis, slough on posterior wall of the trachea in the subglottic region, granulations and scar tissue on anterior wall of the trachea, just above the tracheostomy stoma and slough around tracheostomy stome site.
