This is one of my very old video of Atticotomy and attic reconstruction. Atticotomy is the removal of the lateral epitympanic wall to get better visualization of middle ear and attic, and also to preserve the postoperative canal wall. We use conchal cartilage with perichondrium to reconstruct the defect of the scutum. This procedure can be performed for limited cholesteatoma, to excise tympanosclerosis, and manage ankylosis of ossicles.
