This is a patient 5 weeks after cataract surgery. She has been referred in with a dislocated Crystalens. The temporal haptic is in the bag, the nasal haptic is in the sulcus and the bag is collapsed and fibrosed closed under the implant for 300 degrees. There is a radial tear at 8:00 which can be seen on gonioscopy to extend around the equator into the peripheral posterior capsule. The Crystalens is carefully removed, the bag reopened with viscodissection and the Restor implant placed into the capsular bag. Care is take throughout the procedure to avoid extension of the radial tear. Steven G. Safran, MD.
